Description:
You will be a software engineering leader with experience in building, mentoring and nurturing cross-functional technical teams. As a hands-on technical leader, you will be working with the APAC VP of Product Development to drive the next phase of Sage APAC’s development team culture, growth, and delivery of strategic product roadmaps. You will be responsible for all parts of our technical organisation including development, QA, security, product design, architecture, and overall scrum/delivery.
You will combine your technical know-how, and engineering management skills to help shape the growth of our development team as Sage seeks to grow our business and enhance our products to meet the ever-increasing demands from our customers.
Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Leading the engineering team through management and mentorship.
- Work closely with our executive team and product managers to plan and execute delivery of our strategic product roadmaps
- Contributing to recruitment activities.
- Preparing, optimizing, and managing budgets.
- Recommending technological developments, automation, and process improvements to remove inefficiency.
- Developing the team to ensure quality end products.
- Developing standards and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met and consistent.
- Own + resolve technical issues
- Manage relationships with key 3rd party suppliers (technology and services)
Your Background And Experience
- 8+ year’s experience leading software engineering teams and developing customer-facing platforms in an agile environment.
- Highly structured and strong organisational and leadership skills.
- Experience in recruiting Engineers and technical resources.
- Excellent communication skills; you will be required to ensure that the teams you lead understand current priorities and roadmaps, as well as with management to articulate concepts and progress of delivery of strategic roadmaps
- Experience building cloud native software, ideally with a focus on Microsoft and Azure technologies
- Must be knowledgeable about industry trends, best practices, and change management
- Working to foster Agile best practices across all facets of the engineering team
- Seeking to continuously improve the service and technology stack
- Be able to connect with and mentor junior and senior developers
- Excel at presentations to internal and external audiences
