Head Of Campus

Description:

St Mary MacKillop College is committed to excellence in teaching and learning, the support of family life, and the enrichment of all our people. The curriculum at St Mary MacKillop College is undertaken in an environment where each person is valued and respected as an individual whose personal growth is of paramount importance.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Campus to join our vibrant and comprehensive team at St Mary MacKillop College.

The Head of Campus will be key to the enlivening of the College Vision, and therefore the Catholic foundation of the College and of their campus. This person will be a member of the College Executive and participate in the development of and decision making about the College Strategic Plan, as well as action arising from the five-year Registration and Accreditation Panel and other Reviews.

A successful Head of Campus will have advanced skills in administrative and organisational leadership, the performance improvement of others and highly evolved communication skills in a variety of modes with a range of audiences.

Importantly, the Head of Campus will need to work openly and respectfully with the other Head of Campus and the Principal to ensure cohesion of vision, policy and process across the Year 7-12 continuum of MacKillop.

Please note that this position is for an initial two-year period with an opportunity for further extensions. Two further extensions (each of four years) may be offered based on performance outcomes. The position will be underpinned by a permanent (ongoing) teaching position within Catholic Education.

The College is looking for demonstrated excellence in the following areas:

  • Promoting the Vision and Mission of the Catholic Church for its schools.
  • Excellence as a school teacher (as understood by professional standards criteria) in one or more curriculum areas.
  • Demonstrated successful leadership in the areas of Religious Studies, Curriculum and Pastoral Care, or in educational administration and the building of capacity in teachers and the profession in general.
  • Advanced skills in educational administration including strategic vision, organisation, decision making, collaborative problem solving, and forms of communication in areas of regulatory compliance and risk.
  • A breadth of experience and professional learning in data, evidence and research, in order to bring further innovation to College Leadership in its planning for school improvement.
  • A highly relational leader who can build relationships with all school stakeholders but specifically with adolescents; who can bring good humour, perspective, wisdom and judgement to a school work place where these qualities are prized.
  • A leader who values and exhibits the qualities of trust, pastoral care, professional integrity, honesty, transparency and courage
