About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Group Engineering Manager to design and develop the internal and external management practices of design and construction projects for the business, including but not limited to tendering and project delivery obligations.

As the Group Engineering Manager your responsibilities will include:

• Generally provide design management function for projects from tender to final completion
• Provide mentoring and guidance on design management
• Design, implement, audit and train personnel in all policy and procedural design management document for pre-contract, project award and post-contract review
• Work with business development to ensure diversification strategies and conversion of target tenders is achieved
• Ensure all designs are prepared in accordance with Decmil procedures and are submitted on time, including the time and cost planning and allocation of tasks to ensure financial targets are met
• Liaise with external consultants in bidding for projects
• Identify critical client expectations and ensure rapid resolution of areas of difficulty to ensure pre and post contract negotiation close-out
• Establish work winning concepts in engineering innovation for client presentation to enhance Decmil’s design and construct service delivery on targeted D&C contracts
• Ensure high standards of design co-ordination, consultant management and review of selected tenders.

What We Are Looking For

To be considered for this role you will have:

• Bachelor of Engineering, Architecture or equivalent
• Work experience with multi-disciplined engineering design
• Extensive design experience (5-10 years) across a broad spectrum of civil and building disciplines
• Proven technical and management skills in design management or similar role with experience in the Infrastructure, Resources, Construction and Energy Sectors
• Comprehensive knowledge of the principles of Architectural, Engineering & Quantity Surveying practices of design, estimating, contract management, program, financial management and risk and opportunity management.
