The Opportunity

Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding career in accounting or finance with a modern and progressive organisation? Did you complete your degree in 2020 or plan to complete it during 2021? Are you motivated by the opportunity to make a difference?

Finance and Business units within WA Health are seeking to recruit a pool of talented Graduates, with an interest in accounting, finance, legislative compliance, business systems and improvement.

WA Health currently has up to eight (8) positions available in the Graduate Development Program Finance and Business Stream.

In this role you will provide support to develop, implement, maintain and evaluate WA Health's finance and business policies, systems and governance requirements. The role is suited to graduates with academic backgrounds including accounting, finance, economics and commerce.

The Graduate Development Program - Finance and Business Stream provides access to ongoing professional development activities and a broad range of work experience that seeks to develop and diversify your knowledge and skills. It also offers you hands-on experience in a variety of finance, business and corporate areas across the Department.

In this stream, you will be offered the opportunity to complete a prescribed number of units towards attaining a professional accounting qualification (e.g. CPA or CA). You will be provided with financial support (reimbursement of unit costs upon successful completion), access to study leave and a formal mentor to assist you to pursue this qualification.

This pool will be used to fill vacancies for the Graduate Development Program or similar positions as they become vacant.

WA Health is committed to building a workplace culture that values diversity and inclusion. We actively promote the employment of Aboriginal Australians, people with disability, youth and other diversity groups. As a measure to achieve equality, Section 51 and 66 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 applies to all positions of the Finance and Business stream. People with disability will be provided with appropriate support in our recruitment process and in the workplace.

Opportunities in the Graduate Development Program are for non-clinical areas only.
