The Opportunity
You will be working on a variety of geotechnical projects, within a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, scientists and other professionals.
The following key responsibilities will be expected from a candidate considered for this role:
- Full time role, however, consideration will be given to part-time working arrangements. We offer flexible working patterns and reward schemes for our staff.
- Coordinate the day-to-day site activities/fieldwork and management of specialist sub-consultants/contractors.
- Supervise site activities and subcontractors and undertake soil and rock logging for the ground investigation projects.
- Provide high quality technical reports including slope stability assessments, pile load testing and design, and general geotechnical investigations to a broad range of clients across the private sector and at all levels of government.
- Represent Kleinfelder at an industry level by participating in forums and has, or is, working towards membership of professional institutions.
- Work competently and safely by complying with relevant H&S requirements, including internal Kleinfelder and external client procedures.
About You
We are seeking talented and curious geotechnical engineers who want to advance their career with a global engineering and environmental consultancy. Ideally you will bring:
- A degree in geotechnical or relevant geomechanics engineering.
- Minimum 2 years’ of related professional experience in geotechnical assessment and site investigation (Graduates are also encouraged to apply).
- A passion for field-based project work including drilling, compaction testing, slope stability assessment, contractor supervision and safety management.
- An ability to undertake soil and rock logging in site investigation projects.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the aptitude to confidently liaise with project teams, subcontractors and clients.
- Safety leadership in the field and commitment to adopting behavioural based safety programs.
- The drive and commitment to succeed and to be a strong contributor to the growth and success of Kleinfelder in Australia.
- Ability and willingness to travel interstate.
- Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate multiple project teams engaged on geotechnical projects to deliver to deadlines and within budget.
- Valid Australian (State or Territory) Drivers Licence.
- Construction Induction Card.
