As the General Manager, Swinburne Edge you will bring a combination of deep management consulting practice leadership and demonstrable operational and strategic leadership experience to successfully lead, manage and grow the Swinburne Edge practice.

This role will be responsible for leading the Swinburne Edge practice and position the practice towards becoming a ‘future of work’ authority that links its products and solutions to the broader university teaching and learning capability and engages in the co-creation of solutions with industry partners.

Key focus areas for this role will be:

  • Running Swinburne Edge as a business by taking end-to-end accountability for its strategy, performance, financials, operations and team
  • Growing Swinburne Edge strategically though product, business, and market development
  • Recruiting, developing and retaining talent and getting them to deliver as a team


This position will suit a driven and motivated professional who demonstrate the skills and experience to run a business where you will grow the business and shape it as a leading consulting practice. This is a fantastic opportunity as the position forms part of the Innovation & Enterprise leadership team responsible for driving an innovation and entrepreneurship culture across the university.
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Proven track record of driving sustainable revenue growth in the B2B space, including growing existing markets and developing new markets
  • Significant commercial acumen, with proven analytical and conceptual skills applicable to the development and implementation of complex management and planning issues and associated support processes and systems
  • Financial and systems analysis skills to enable informed business improvement and business growth decision making aligned with strategic objectives
  • Demonstrated experience in the effective leadership and growth of a professional services firm, consulting practice or similar
  • Proven ability in workforce planning, managing budgets and interpreting development and delivery of business cases and presentation materials in a clear and concise manner
