At Australian Unity we are going through an exciting phase of innovative change with the commissioning of our brand-new Albert Park Lake Precinct, in South Melbourne, which will bring to life our Better Together® social model of ageing well, which offers a continuum of care and support services in a range of accommodation options in one location.

Currently home to The Grace Retirement Community, which comprises 79 residences, The Alba Aged Care suites (95) and Assisted Living apartments (60) will provide customers with a continuum of options from independence through to clinical care and memory support. It will offer state-of-the-art facilities within a light filled interior, on-site café, private dining facilities, hair and beauty spa, and gym along with many other activities in the Albert Park Lake area.

As the Precinct General Manager, you will lead and manage the entire precinct, including the Retirement Community, Assisted Living Apartments and Aged Care Suites, leading, and supporting our precinct operational teams.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the end-to-end Better Together® customer experience across the precinct by delivering exceptional customer service, support, and care
  • Leading the operations team by promoting a positive culture to fulfill the Better Together® promise
  • Fostering an engaged and supportive environment whilst overseeing recruitment and roster management, training and providing coaching on best practice
  • Working closely with key stakeholders of the precinct including residents, families, guests, contractors, and staff to ensure high standards of care and exceptional customer service
  • Overseeing the precinct financial performance and reporting; ensuring key performance measures are delivered in-line with budget and support requirements
  • Identifying and managing risks, managing customer needs and complex issues as required
  • Overseeing the precinct obligations for quality assurance, audits, and Aged Care accreditations
  • Overseeing the precinct obligations regarding both the Victorian Retirement Village legislation and National Aged Care legislation
  • Previous experience as a General Manager in a customer-focused industry. Aged Care experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience working within a leadership role within the Hospitality sector, within the 5-star hotel market would be highly regarded
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to nurture and develop team culture and performance
  • Experience in operational management including recruiting and roster management
  • Strong financial acumen, financial management and reporting experience
