ECU’s School of Arts and Humanities, one of the largest and most comprehensive schools of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, manages two distinct Galleries, which provide a nexus for interdisciplinary research and engagement excellence. Our exhibition facilities (including Spectrum Project Space and Gallery25) are critical/pivotal spaces for the dissemination and communication of creative research.
The School is seeking a qualified, effective and efficient administrator with Gallery experience to manage our exhibitions spaces, providing logistical, administrative and promotional support to our exhibition program.
Strong attention to detail
Managing and organising applications, exhibitions, events, installations, volunteers and artists;
Creation of promotional materials and the promotion of exhibitions and events through social and other media;
Venue management including OSH compliance, and
Administrative support including record-keeping, correspondence, and drafting proposals.
The Officer, Galleries, will be first port of call for Gallery related business, and will be required to attend and support galley functions and events outside of business hours.
The successful applicant will demonstrate the following capabilities:
Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (for example: Arts Administration, Art Curation, or Fine Arts), with relevant experience;
Excellent administrative and project planning skills with strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability with MSOffice and Adobe programs (In-Design is preferred);
Strong communication skills, including excellent design, writing and proof-reading skills with an ability to write clearly for different audiences and media formats;
Experience using social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo, Mailchimp; and,
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently both collaboratively and autonomously within a team. (take direction)
