The Future Students Coordinator is responsible for leading and managing the work related to increasing the rate of enrolment and participation of Indigenous students across all degree programs at UNSW. The role is responsible for providing advice and services to prospective Indigenous students, their parents and high school staff on options for study at UNSW as well as being responsible for the delivery of Nura Gili’s recruitment and outreach activities.

 

  • This is an identified position and applicants must be an Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander person. Confirmation of Aboriginality will be required.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience; preferably in education and/ or marketing/ sales
  • Sound knowledge of Secondary and Tertiary education, Higher education and Vocational education sectors, the ATAR system and University application and admissions procedures, issues facing Indigenous Australian students and government initiatives to support Indigenous students
  • Demonstrated ability to develop program plans with clear, measurable goals and successfully implement these plans within budgetary constraints
  • Experience in developing, planning and coordinating events, including training and supervision of staff involved, and reviewing activities for ongoing improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain detailed, accurate and up to date records and use them effectively to identify and analyse trends and produce quality reports
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills, including capacity to connect with a varied audience and develop strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to travel and work outside normal working hours.
