Purpose of Role
The Fundraising Lead position is responsible for the development and implementation of WIRE’s fundraising strategy with a strong focus on donor engagement and innovative donor communications across multiple platforms to strengthen WIRE’s giving income stream by:
- Growing WIRE’s fundraising reach by building engagement with potential and existing donors in line with our fundraising strategy
- Raising the community’s awareness of the services and resources WIRE offers and the opportunities for interested parties to participate meaningfully in supporting these.
- Implement and refine WIRE’s fundraising strategy including digital and social media engagement to reach WIRE’s strategic and organisational goals
- Ensure fundraising activities align with the Communications Manual’s Representation & Imagery Protocol that guides the just and equitable representation of WIRE’s brand and related imagery.
- Develop and implement specific promotional campaigns for WIRE’s fundraisers and campaigns
- Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of ongoing campaigns and strategies
- In conjunction with the Communications Lead and Manager Development, conceptualise and undertake fundraising campaigns
- Contribute to the ongoing development of our membership base, and membership strategy
- Lead work to build WIRE’s fundraising strategy and donor engagement plans
- Create marketing assets for fundraising campaigns distributed via email, social media and collateral: imagery, videos and blog posts
- Create content to communicate WIRE’s key messages to target audiences including members, donors, and partners to support sponsorship opportunities
- Design and run fundraising and sponsorship events aligned to WIRE’s impact goals
- Ensure consistent branding and key messages in all WIRE communications
This role requires a person with well-developed communication, collaboration and design skills. The success of the role also depends on your ability to build trust and collaborative working relationships across the organisation.

- Significant experience in reviewing and implementing fundraising strategy
- Experience delivering fundraising campaigns and donor retention strategies
- High level proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, InDesign, Adobe Creative suite, Google Analytics, Mailchimp, WordPress and CRM database management
- Well-developed skills in customer engagement including corporate, philanthropy, members and community partners
