About The Role

You love and understand front-end development. You deliver solid solutions to complex problems and can provide consistent, high-quality code. You have a passion to continuously learn and improve your technical skills. Your attention to your stakeholder’s business needs influences functional design, prototyping, process design (including scenario design), testing. You are the conduit between business, technology and creative and can work with a medium to large team to deliver successful product projects.

What will your typical day look like? 

• Working within an agile team to design, develop and test web based applications
• Assisting with all aspects of software design and coding
• Working towards code that is clean, correct and adheres to standards with minimal to no defects
• Clarifying approach to tasks with a senior developer, and complete with minimal oversight
• Reliably estimating development effort for assigned tasks
• Writing and maintaining code
• Fixing and triaging defects
• Writing and conducting unit tests
• Developing components and web apps that integrate with APIs
• Preparing reports, manuals and other documentation
• Participate in peer reviews
• Analysing and quickly resolving fuzzy problems to working solutions
• Adhering to high-quality development principles
• Being across the current and future state of digital technologies
• Attending and contributing to practice development meetings

• A passion for Front-End development
• Minimum two years of relevant consulting, digital agency or industry experience with hands on development experience
• An understanding of inclusive design and developing for accessibility
• Basic knowledge and literacy in React (or equivalent framework) and Node
• An understanding of critical CSS techniques (CSS in JS, Styled components, CSS modules etc)
• Basic knowledge of JavaScript
• Basic knowledge of API integration
• An understanding of writing code for cross-browser compatibility
• Basic understanding in building accessible components and websites to the WCAG standards
• Familiarity with JIRA, GIT, agile concepts, test driven development
• Fantastic attention to detail
