Financial Reporting Manager

An exciting opportunity for self-starting Financial Reporting Manager has arisen in our Financial Control team. Acting as 2IC to the Financial Controller, this is a key role, managing and overseeing the production of the consolidated financial statements for the annual report. In this role you will lead the year-end audit process and preparation and coordination of the annual consolidated financial statements and subsidiary financial statements for the University.

Leading a close-knit and collaborative team, you will drive suitable financial governance and controls. You will perform reconciliations, accounting for tangible and intangible assets, calculation of online delivery costs for Swinburne Online and Open Universities Australia, revenue recognition, reconciliation of HELP loan balances and compliance to accounting standards.
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

• Extensive experience working as a Finance Manager in a large and complex organisation with team management duties.
• Extensive knowledge of local market statutory reporting requirements and technical accounting requirements.
• Financial reporting, financial statement preparation and audit experience.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, occasionally developing and implementing programs combined with the ability to generate practical and effective solutions.
• Post graduate qualifications, or extensive relevant industry experience.
• Membership of Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountants Australia (CPA).
• Extensive experience of AASB and local market accounting standards.
