The Customer Strategy, Technology and Innovation division within Transport leads the development of long-term, multi-modal strategies, plans and policies across NSW. We leverage data and insights, implement new technologies, drive innovation and build partnerships to provide customer-centred solutions.
Right now, we have a fixed term full-time opportunity (up to 30th June 2023) for a Financial Performance Analyst to join the Technology and Innovation Branch.
If successful, you will prepare a range of financial management activities including budget preparation and monitoring, financial analysis and financial reporting. Provide whole-of-project

or business unit oversight for major stakeholders and work with project owners for an accurate and timely reports on all aspects of financial performance.

  • Provide financial reporting support to T&I branch management and work with area managers to prepare accurate reporting on all aspects of financial performance.
  • Ensure proper month end financial close, asset capitalization and timely billing and revenue, and advise branch leads on financial risks and appropriate resolution to identify emerging trends for monthly forecast.
  • Monitoring, analysis of both OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
  • Continuously analyse and improve systems, processes and derived insights to deliver valuable information and advice for business planning and operations.
  • Analyse systems, processes and procedures to improve project finance reporting management of projects
  • Prepare a wide range of complex internal/external reports, documents, briefs and responses to ad hoc communication requests to provide information, analysis and insights into whole- of-life project performance
  • You will hold tertiary qualifications in either Accounting/Finance and have demonstrated experience in financial analysis, budgeting, reporting, forecasting and month end accruals.
  • Professional standing for current membership of a recognised Australian accounting body.
  • The ideal candidate will also have good interpersonal skills and attention to detail, have demonstrated ability to work in a team, and great organisational and time management skills.
  • Exposure to project accounting and project financial management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced)
  • Experience with SAP desirable
