A very exciting opportunity to be part of a global market leader in a hyper growth phase, with 14 global offices and a newly created role as a Financial Controller in Melbourne, Australia.
The role of the Financial Controller Australia will report to the APAC Financial Controller and is primarily responsible for managing the finance function for the Australian business, as well as actively supporting the sales and operations teams.
The Financial Controller will manage a finance team consisting of onshore and offshore members. The incumbent will support the APAC Financial Controller with a number of change and improvement initiatives including systems implementations and building a success focussed and high performing team. The team will support other SEAP finance teams in the group on a knowledge sharing and help as needed basis.

The position requires a highly organized, detail oriented individual with a sense of urgency to complete tasks promptly but accurately. With a flexible outlook and able to take care of frequent interruptions and changing priorities. This role requires strong communication, customer service and social skills, especially with contacts from both financial and non-financial backgrounds.

Key responsibilities:

  • Management of the offshore Australia accounting team and payroll lead in Australia
  • Month-end close process, and preparation of financial statements (including variance analysis and commentary) on a timely basis to allow for monthly and annual consolidated financial statements
  • Management of core finance operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and credit control, company payroll and billing process, and general ledger accounting, and financial and management reporting
  • Drive process improvement initiatives and implement financial controls to support business growth and optimise the accounting and function
  • Monitoring and reporting on cash flow requirements of the business to ensure financial obligations are met
  • Prepare and manage bank, general ledger, inter-company, and cash flow reconciliations processes on daily, weekly, and monthly cycles as required
  • Weekly reporting of Gross Profit processed
  • Analyse data and prepare meaningful statistical insights and metrics to in relation to financials, processes, and performance management
  • Statutory reporting and tax compliance in the relevant jurisdictions across Australia including but not limited to the preparation of Financial Statements, tax returns, BAS, PAYG, Payroll Tax, FBT, Superannuation, STP reporting, transfer pricing
  • Manage Workers Compensation and business insurances
  • Liase with bank, tax professionals, lawyers, and auditors
  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts
