Financial Accountant

 

Description:

This role focuses on managing assurance and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to Australian Accounting Standards, Department of Health policies, and statutory obligations. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen compliance frameworks, provide actionable insights, and maintain robust policy management processes.

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Interpret and apply regulatory requirements to business processes, ensuring compliance.
  • Develop and maintain finance-related policies and procedures aligned with current regulations.
  • Oversee financial compliance and governance, ensuring adherence to Ministerial Directions, tax laws, and statutory obligations.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Financial Accounting to identify and address key financial control risks.
  • Coordinate with audit teams to finalise management audit items promptly.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, addressing client inquiries effectively.
  • Prepare and manage FBT and BAS submissions to meet statutory deadlines.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the financial compliance framework.
