This role will be based in Kmart's National Office in Mulgrave.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Financial Accountant at Kmart, you will:
- Create and review periodic financial statements and reports – assisting with the preparation of monthly, half yearly and annual financial results including reporting requirements to Wesfarmers
- Ensure all accounting policies, procedures and relevant legislative requirements are adhered to
- Preparation of month end journals and financial reconciliation in a timely manner
- Preparation of survey/statistics information
- Identify financial risks and opportunities for the business and provide insights on relevant risk mitigation
- Actively participate in finance related project work as required
To be successful in this team you will have:
- 2-3 years’ experience in a mid-large scale corporate business with a good understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in the use of Financial Systems (i.e. SAP), including completing ledger reconciliations
- Professional accounting qualification (CA or CPA).
- Strong computer software skills, including advanced knowledge and use of Excel
- Ability to drive improvements and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
