About the role
A new opportunity has become available at Life Without Barriers for a NISS Contract and Finance Performance Assistant to support our National Immigration Support Services (NISS) program. NISS is responsible for delivery of program/s supporting clients from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
This position is being offered as permanent, full-time position and can be based at our offices in Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane with flexibility to work from home.
The purpose of the NISS Contract and Finance Performance Assistant is to:
- Support NISS program in relation to contract management, finance management, performance and delivery.
- Assist the NISS Contract and Finance Performance Manager as required to meet contractual requirements of funding model with finance and property.
- Support NISS programs to deliver services in line with contractual requirements, policy and procedures and the funding model.
- Support NISS programs to meet their financial accountability by providing financial analysis, advice, and support.
- Assist the NISS Contract and Finance Performance Manager to proactively identify, respond to and resolve funding matters, including property support.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and coordinate monthly financials with the Finance Teams and Client Services Team.
- Prepare and update regular reporting on financials, resources, and performance management.
- Support and coordinate the quality audit process and reviews for internal, external stakeholders including funding body.
- Assist in monthly forecast and annual budget process.
- Coordinate and complete support of finance processes and support staff to manage other finance related management, procedures and contractual requirements.
- Provide information for monitoring financial performance of contract provisions.
- Assist in developing and delivering training to the NISS programs for contractual compliance regarding finance and property, and LWB finance systems
- Provide internal support to NISS operational teams and NISS Property Asset Officers (PAOs).
Skills & Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, or related fields, or relevant experience in a similar role.
- Significant experience in an accounting role including utilising reconciliation and invoicing skills (essential).
- Advanced ability in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of program including Excel (essential).
- Demonstrated experience utilising a computerised accounting package.
- Demonstrated experience in managing competing priorities and to deliver high quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
- Working knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory environment for areas of business responsibility.
- Sound knowledge of financial management principles, practices, and current issues.
