Description:
Reporting is a critical role within the Finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the statutory reporting obligations and associated activities of the Vicinity Group.
This is more than just a reporting role, you will be given the opportunity to partner with the wider finance group and other stakeholders in the business on transactions, strategic initiatives and continuous improvements projects.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities will include:
- Co-manage the Group's statutory reporting obligations (including interim reporting), ensuring that disclosures are compliant with applicable accounting standards and ASX reporting obligations
- Assist in overseeing and managing the external audit process including maintaining effective relationships with external auditors and JV partners
- Prepare Audit Committee and technical accounting papers on complex and judgemental accounting matters
- Support Investor Relations in preparing market related materials
- Assist in establishing and maintaining the accounting policy framework, standards and manual for the Group
- Assist in ensuring consistent application of the Group’s accounting standards and accounting policies across the Group
- Prepare in-depth and considered technical accounting analysis and advice, including on complex issues arising from transactions and/or strategic initiatives
- Supporting the Group strategic initiatives, including undertaking financial due diligence on potential acquisitions, builders and/or tenants
- Developing and maintaining an effective control framework, including ongoing assessment of risks and associated controls around accounting framework and policies
- Identifying and delivering processes efficiencies and improvements in financial and accounting processes and systems

Capability And Experience
- It is essential you have experience in overseeing the external reporting function for a large ASX listed entity and/or you have developed and delivered in depth knowledge of accounting standards and complex consolidation requirements for clients in a major accounting firm.
- You will be a senior finance professional with experience in a similar role or alternatively you will be operating at a Senior Manager level within a Big 4 firm looking to make the first move out. Experience in A-REIT is ideal but not essential.
- In addition to being technically proficient in accounting matters, you will have an analytical mind with strong commercial acumen and ability to manage competing demands, a keen eye for detail, problem solving skills and an ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
- A track record in driving best practice with regards to systems and processes in a complex operating environment is also desired.
- You are flexible and is prepared to step in and assist with related ad hoc requests from the business and projects as required.
