Description:
We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable boutique law firm who specialise across corporate and commercial law, litigation and property. They are the trusted advisors to some of Australia's most sophisticated and successful companies, institutions, and private groups.
Despite being boutique in size, this specialist practice is well known in the legal industry and are regularly involved in high-value complex matters and disputes. Many of their lawyers and support staff grew their careers in top tier or global law firms and later aspired to work in a more boutique environment that fosters collaboration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparation of monthly management reporting, reconciliations and P&L analysis, weekly revenue reporting;
- Preparation of BAS and PAYG, superannuation and other regularly monthly, quarterly and annual statutory reporting and payments and ensure legal compliance;
- Preparation and lodgement of payroll and related statutory obligations;
- Oversight of accounts receivable and accounts payable, debtor collections and management of key targets with the responsible Partner
- Management of the firm’s trust account and adherence to Uniform Law rules, including working closely with the Practice Manager on annual trust audit;
- Oversight of the monthly billing process and daily cashflow;
- Responsibility for a team of 2 other accounts personnel;
- Preparation of practice group reports and participating in fortnightly partner meetings to discuss WIP movement, risk exposure analysis and debt collection;
- Maintain all general ledger accounts and ensure all accounts are accurately and regularly reconciled to maintain financial control accuracy.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
- Similar managerial experience within professional services
- Strong knowledge and understanding in trust accounting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing a small team
