Description:

The Enterprise Project Management Office (ePMO) is part of the Finance department and supports the delivery of Swinburne’s enterprise wide capital investment projects and programs of work.

The Enterprise Project Management Office Finance and Assurance Manager will play a key role in ensuring that projects are established and executed in a manner that is consistent with ePMO expectations and financial outcomes. This role is the champion for the quality and health of project planning, execution and delivery and will ensure that all projects are compliant with ePMO frameworks, templates, policies and practices.

Under broad direction this role will work with Portfolio Delivery, Project and Program Managers, (and other delivery partners as appropriate), to gather and analyse the data required to determine the quality and health of projects and identify and address threats to project viability and delivery success. It will also work closely with senior managers and their teams to help drive business performance and enhance the quality of financial and commercial decisions through financial reporting, analysis, insights and objective financial advice to drive improvement while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, accounting standards and the University’s policies and procedures.

The role requires strong consulting capabilities; proven experience in delivering successful projects; strong influencing and communication skills; the ability to provide advice on all aspects of the project lifecycle; and the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organisation.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Experience in a PMO or Project Assurance role with experience in providing project oversight and issues / risk management.
  • Proven project management knowledge in a services industry.
  • Experience in the developing and delivering Benefits Management Approaches (including how to articulate, measure and report benefits at a project and portfolio level).
  • Strong knowledge and experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting, delivering consistently accurate and clear information.
  • Demonstrated solid analytical acumen and the ability to interpret financial data and provide solutions to a range of commercial issues.
  • Proven stakeholder management and engagement skills and the ability to adapt, manage and work effectively with people from diverse disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Graduate qualifications in a relevant discipline and extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
