Field Service Technician

Verra Mobility is hiring a technician who will be part of a fast paced, high growth traffic enforcement technology company. You will calibrate, analyze, troubleshoot and maintain automated traffic enforcement systems, field WAN networks and surveillance equipment. You will also document, install, upgrade or replace hardware and software systems as needed. You will be traveling independently to locations where you will work with subcontractors, clients and Verra Mobility engineering staff to install and maintain red light camera and speed enforcement systems in the field.

This position will require up to 50% of the time in the office to perform daily remote checks of camera systems, daily image review, remote fault finding and daily review of system uptime, as well as adjudication of data and images captured by the camera systems.

Essential Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will contribute to Company and the Operations Department’s effectiveness and efficiency through the following responsibilities:
 

  • Preventative and remedial maintenance of Redflex’s systems on site and remotely. (At times requires out of hours work).
  • Perform wiring and troubleshooting of electrical and data connectivity hook ups for various mechanical and electronic equipment.
  • Programming/configuring of ITS, red light camera and speed enforcement systems in the field.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair a variety of ITS, red light camera and speed enforcement system issues.
  • Must be able to prioritize, comply with processes and quality checklists.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, assignments and report service data.
  • Must be able to organize, manage and safeguard vehicle stock parts and tools.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and subcontractors in the field, fostering a good working relationship.
  • Assist with on-the-job training of other staff on Verra Mobility technologies and systems.
  • May assist with new site installations, including working with construction teams, installing and configuring sensor and camera components from scratch, etc.
  • Daily and monthly system performance reporting.
     

Qualifications
 

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic components, connectivity wiring, computer hardware and data/video cabling required.
  • Proficient with the safe use of tools and test equipment.
  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently (safely and responsibly), as well as in a team and with subcontractors.
  • Must be able to obtain the following certifications within 60 days from date of hire (company will provide required training):
    • CPCWHS1001 Construction induction (White Card).
    • RIIWHS204E Work Safely at Heights.
    • HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
    • HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support.
    • HLTAID003 Provide first aid.
  • Travel to work sites throughout Darwin for preventative maintenance and remedial maintenance activities, with occasional travel to Alice Springs.
  • Have a valid driver's license.
  • Comfortable working outside with regular exposure to outside elements.
  • Willingness to spend up to 50% of your time working in the office.
  • Some lifting required (ladders and system components).
  • National Police Clearance (or regional equivalent).
