Position: Facilities Manager

Role and Responsibilities: As a Facilities Manager, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the smooth operation of the commercial office building. Your trade or technical expertise will be essential in overseeing a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Maintenance Leadership: Lead a team of skilled technicians and maintenance personnel to execute repairs, preventive maintenance, and system upgrades to ensure optimal functionality of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Utilize your trade skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly, minimizing downtime and disruptions for tenants.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services, ensuring quality and cost-effective solutions.
  • Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe and compliant working environment by implementing safety protocols, conducting regular inspections, and adhering to relevant regulations.
  • Budget Oversight: Assist in budget preparation and monitor expenditures related to maintenance and repairs.

Qualifications

  • A trade or technical background in fields such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or building systems.
  • Proven experience in facilities management or related roles, with a track record of successfully leading maintenance teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities to coordinate with team members, tenants, and vendors.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes.
  • Budget management skills and an understanding of cost-effective maintenance practices.
