Fabrication Trainer

Through BHP’s Future Fit Academy we are providing a nationally standardised curriculum for trade apprenticeships and maintenance traineeships. Campuses have been established in Forrestfield in Perth and Mackay in Queensland. They include virtual reality simulation training and full mobile equipment and fixed plant workshops.

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Fabricator/Boilermaker to come and be part of this amazing opportunity to develop our future workforce at our Forrestfield facility.
 

If you are a qualified as a Fabricator/Boilermaker Tradesperson and are passionate about developing others, we are looking for you. While a Cert IV TAE is highly desirable, we may be able to assist in attaining this - for the right candidate.

Qualifications & Experience
 

• Must hold a relevant trade qualification in:
  • Fabrication/Boilermaker
  • Or have equivalent experience in the above trade
• Hold a Cert IV Training Assessment TAE40116 (desirable but not essential

Ideally you will possess a high number of the following skills and qualifications:
 

• Trade qualified and experience as an Fabricator/Boilermaker
• Demonstrated experience and background of working with apprentices/trainees in an operational technical environment within mining or heavy industry.
• Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment highly desirable, or has the ability to obtain the qualification.
• Exposure or some knowledge of Vocational Education and Training (VET) legislation would be advantageous.
• Willingness to lead and implement change, as well as influence, coach and model BHP values and behaviours.
• Diversity of thought and practical experience will be embraced and willingness to learn and grow within the role.
• Ability to train a wide variety of learning styles and cater for language, literacy & numeracy requirements as well as other learning needs
• Positive attitude, proven leadership ability and strong interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships across a range of team members and stakeholders.
