Innovation is critical to growing and maintaining a successful business, and it can be an expensive pursuit. Our specialist Innovation Incentives team help our clients to make the most of their international expansion investments through the Export Market Development Grant (EMDG) program, as well as supporting companies through reviews with the regulators and identifying and accessing other grant programs. We are looking for a Senior Associate/Manager to join our Innovation Incentives team in Brisbane or Sydney specialising in EMDG.

About The Role

This role presents an exceptional opportunity for you to join this high performing team of experts, where your knowledge and commitment to the highest standards of technical expertise will be valued as will your commitment to nurturing client relationships. This position is initially through to March 2023, with the potential to be extend beyond this. You will work across a diverse client base ranging from major corporates to large privately owned groups and multinationals. Some of the key responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Preparation of EMDG applications, including expense substantiation and audit defence
  • Technical writing (business plan preparation)
  • Reviewing data, information and contracts
  • Applying legislation to maximise and support EMDG applications
  • Looking for opportunities with new clients, regular networking
  • Managing a portfolio of over 50 clients
  • Internal management and delegation to a national team
  • Working closely with the Partner and close knit team

Skills And Experience

You’ll be agile, responsive and bring innovative ideas to the table. This role will suit someone with the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • A minimum of 2 years exposure in preparing EMDG applications (QIP Consultant desirable but not required)
  • Experience with the R&D Tax Incentive or other Government Grants (desirable but not required)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Solid client relationship and communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and a genuine interest in their clients
  • Strong time management skills
  • A self-starter keen to develop an understanding of client needs
  • Interest in a career of lifelong learning with a focus on developing your knowledge and skills in our Innovation Incentives offerings
  • A Finance/Commerce/Accounting degree or a combined degree
  • Positive, enthusiastic and passionate outlook
