Are you a dynamic and experienced professional looking to make a significant impact in local government? We are seeking an Executive Officer to join our team in the City Assets Directorate. In this role, you will provide high-level strategic and business support to the Director and senior management team.
Key Accountabilities
- Act as a point of contact for the Director, liaise with key stakeholders and action requests to coordinate communication and proactively ensure responses meet deadlines.
- Support the Director in leading customer experience initiatives and outcomes across the team.
- Prepare, author, edit, manage and review the provision of high-level communications and correspondence for the Director’s approval; including key correspondence and communications, briefings, reports, submissions and notes to ensure the comprehensiveness, accuracy and timeliness of written information.
- Undertake high-level analysis, integration and synthesis of information from a range of internal and external sources to provide the Director with strategic, timely advice on complex and sensitive matters relating to the Directorate’s functions.
- Collaborate with the Director and other senior managers to develop and implement strategic plans that align with Council goals and objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of strategic initiatives, providing regular reports and recommendations for adjustments as needed.
- Develop and implement performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of strategic initiatives.
- Oversee the allocation and utilisation of resources to support strategic initiatives, ensuring optimal use of budgetary resources and resources.
- Represent Council as required in meetings, conferences, and public forums, fostering positive relationships, and promoting the Council's interests.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a local government setting.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Understanding of local government operations, policies, and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
