Description:
Reporting to the Head of Investigations and Intelligence, this person will ensure all investigations conducted by the Group Internal Investigations Team are conducted in a procedurally fair way, within agreed timeframes and in accordance with legislative standards, Group workplace guidelines and industry best practice. Furthermore, this person will drive the strategic vision of helping Australians succeed with purpose by ensuring serious misconduct incidents are dealt with efficiently, appropriately and the right thing is done by our customers, employees and the Westpac Group.
This person will work closely with Chief Compliance Officers, Whistleblower Governance Team, Human Resources, Whistleblower Protection Office and Senior management to develop an Internal Investigations Model which is easily accessible to all employees. They will ensure effective management of all Internal Investigations and alignment to Group Internal Investigations & Intelligence Operating Model and Fraud Management Policy whilst providing oversight of Investigation Quality framework.
Lastly, you will lead and drive the development of a highly skilled and effective Internal Investigation Team and support the Head of Group Internal Investigations & Intelligence in driving high standards of regulatory compliance and deliver key team priorities and initiatives.

What do I need?
A strong candidate will bring extensive experience in Investigations/intelligence or Financial Crime experience, coupled with 5 plus years of Compliance advisory experience as part of a compliance or risk & compliance function. You will have strong people leadership experience.
You will hold stakeholder engagements skills and highly proficient with both your verbal and written communication. As you will be a crucial point of contact for business partners, you will have to build trusting relationships across the Group. You will be asked to challenge and hold your own amongst some key people across the organisation and provide your thought leadership on several matters.
