This is an exciting opportunity to lead the heart of the financial management of our Department within a passionate senior finance team.

The Executive Director will provide strategic leadership and direction to deliver a new finance service model that integrates and leverages the strategic budgeting functions and the delivery of finance business partner services.

Supporting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) the Executive Director will deliver strategic financial management and Executive decision support to ensure the Departments $22.9 billion budget is invested in alignment with Government and Department objectives and delivers improved outcomes.

You will be a forward-thinking strategic leader with strong leadership skills who has a proven track record of implementing change within a large complex organisation.

As a leader you will join an executive team focused on driving improved ways of working to deliver meaningful and long-lasting impact. You will be collaborative, courageous, agile, and disciplined about delivering outcomes for the students of NSW.

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as finance, business, management, and/or equivalent knowledge and experience.
• Membership of a recognised professional accounting body.
• Hold a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check).
• Demonstrated extensive experience at a senior level in the management in a large complex organisation.
• Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
