Description:

As the Executive Assistant (EA) you will provide a wide range of high quality, reliable and confidential executive level support to the Vice Chancellor, the Chief of Staff, and the Director of Government Relations.

You will be responsible for managing multiple Outlook inboxes and calendars and coordinating the daily activities of the Vice-Chancellor, Chief of Staff, and Director of Government Relations, and ensuring that they are carried out in an efficient and effective manner. You will also have the opportunity to utilise your organisational expertise with various project, event and budget coordination and management.

This is a highly visible position responsible for a wide range of complex and confidential tasks. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and motivated administration professional where you can utilise your discretion and initiative to ensure positive and effective working relationships with senior staff across the university.

As the public and university-interface for the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, it is desirable that the Executive Assistant is approachable, proactive, calm under pressure and highly organised.

  • To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
  • Demonstrated experience in providing high-level executive support including the ability to deal with information of a sensitive and confidential nature. Extensive experience in a senior EA position, ideally with experience across Higher Education or a technology focused organisation.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to effectively deal with conflicting priorities on a daily basis under limited direction
  • High level analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to develop sound solutions to problems and issues including the ability to take initiative and generate solutions to unplanned scenarios
  • Sound financial management skills, understanding and ability to prepare and analyse MS Excel financial spreadsheet reports
  • High level interpersonal, written and verbal communication and relationship management skills
