Description:

As the Manager, Electrical & Engineering Trades, you will be responsible for the leadership of a portfolio of programs within the department and is responsible for building the profile and reputation of the department area, both internally and externally.

Reporting to the Director, Trades and Engineering Technologies, you will provide vision, leadership and operational management of the team to ensure the delivery of high-quality programs and innovative learning and assessment practices to meet the needs of student cohorts while ensuring programs are developed and delivered in accordance with Swinburne’s quality standards.
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Sound knowledge and demonstrated significant experience and understanding of the educational area and training sector disciplines and the requirements of relevant industries or partners.
  • Demonstrated track record in motivating, leading, and managing high performing and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in high level planning, organisational and complex problem-solving skills, which enable business units to achieve performance targets and budgets.
  • Proven ability to negotiate, collaborate and foster strong relationships both internally and externally; including engagement with industry, the community, and professional networks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to effectively lead a team in the delivery of innovative teaching and learning courses to culturally and academically diverse domestic and international student cohorts.
