Electrical Assembler

 

Description:

This role is responsible to manufacture, fit, assemble, operate, test, commission, fault find, repair electrical equipment according customer needs, following electrical drawings and other written and verbal specifications.

Key responsibilities:

  • Participate in electrical work and competency development activities.
  • Fabricate, assemble and dismantle utilities industry components.
  • Solve problems in D.C. circuits.
  • Fix and secure electro technology equipment
  • Use drawings, diagrams, schedules, standards, codes and specifications.
  • Solve problems in single and three phase low voltage machines.
  • Solve problems in single and three phase low voltage electrical apparatus and circuits.
  • Arrange circuits, control and protection for general electrical installations.
  • Solve problems in electromagnetic devices and related circuits.
  • Solve problems in low voltage A.C. circuits.
  • Terminate cables, cords and accessories for low voltage circuits.
  • Trouble-shoot and repair faults in low voltage electrical apparatus and circuits
  • Develop and connect electrical control circuits.
  • Conduct compliance and functional verification of electrical apparatus and existing circuits
  • Carry out basic repairs to electrical apparatus.
  • Conduct mechanical tests on electrical machines and components.
  • Repair and maintain mechanical components of electrical machines.
  • Apply Occupational Health and Safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace.

Qualification and experience

  • Connect and disconnect qualifications in electrical or
  • Australia Trade Recognition - Electrical fitter
  • 2 –3 years of electrical assembly experience, including panel building and wiring, in an industrial setting
