TAFE NSW is looking for creative and motivated individuals with current industry knowledge and experience in Community Services to join our team as an Education Support Officer.
- Provides support to students to carry out tasks and understand their learning materials and concepts
- Responsible for the coordination of student placements and assists students to maintain accurate enrolment status.
- Supports Teachers and Head Teachers in meeting compliance functions for TAFE NSW
- Follows up with students to encourage ongoing engagement and motivate and encourage the students to complete their tasks and activities
- Supplements the teaching activities by providing follow-up instruction as provided by the teacher and opportunities to practice skills
- This may include learner support, assisting with accessing learning materials and virtual sessions, preparatory sessions for students new to learning, supporting applications for specialised learner support, assisting with Individual Training Plans.
- Certificate IV or higher qualification in Community Services or related field
- High-level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to be proactive and show initiative
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with people from a diverse range of backgrounds and to provide quality customer service as part of a broader team
- Commitment and ability to support learning in an adult vocational education setting, and demonstrated ability to motivate and encourage students
