Education Support Officer

 

Description:

The role of Education Support Officer is responsible for overall support to Academic staff and students across the Faculty to ensure Teaching is delivered efficiently and appropriately. This includes ensuring appropriate timelines, processes and logistical support are provided in the areas outlined below to ensure that our core programs are delivered on time and as required. The role reports to the Academic Quality Manager (Brad Gascoigne).

  • Apply, interpret, and advise on policies, systems, manuals, rules, procedures, and guidelines relevant to learning and teaching activities across the Faculty.
  • Work with the Academic Quality Manager and Education Quality Officer to support and deliver Academic Program Reviews across the Faculty.
  • Work with the Faculty Academic Quality Team to support and deliver Academic Program Reviews across the Faculty.
  • Undertake Faculty support for the review, adjustment, revisions, and publication of course catalogues, ECLIPS and Handbook entries across all courses and programs.
  • Working with the Academic Quality Manager, Associate Dean Education, and key stakeholders in schools, undertake work in relation to auditing and creating Faculty wide process and procedures for the Faculty of Arts, Design & Architecture.
  • Review and improve systems and procedures to enable the Faculty Academic Quality Team to function efficiently, taking into account the new Faculty structure, policies, procedures and priorities of the Educational Excellence portfolio.
  • Undertake Faculty data cleaning and updating activities in ECLIPS, Sims and other identified systems to reflect the structure and nomenclature of the Faculty of Arts, Design & Architecture.
  • Support Faculty Education Quality Officer in completion and compiling of data and reporting.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • High-level understanding of course, specialisation and program requirements, handbook requirements, and program administration.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and organisational skills with an ability to identify gaps in service and make suggestions for improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
  • Sound stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders, specifically students.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
