Education Project Officer

 

Description:

In this role you will be required to utilise your knowledge and experience to develop and deliver education programs and content aligned with the Australian Museum’s Pasifika collections in preparation for a new Pasifika gallery opening in September 2023.

About You

You will be an experienced educator who will collaborate with staff in the First Nations Division and the Pasifika Collections and Engagement team, whilst working as part of the Education and Visitor Experience team. The successful applicant will have a background in education and/or equivalent experience to be able to represent the needs of communities across the Pacific region and local Pasifika diaspora and the Australian Museum in authentic and engaging education programs for audiences of all types.

Your Knowledge & Experience

  • Able to develop and deliver a variety of education programs and experience in and understanding of how to translate complex scientific and cultural content for students and community audiences of a range of ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
  • Have an understanding, knowledge and interest in natural sciences, climate solutions, First Nations and Pasifika cultures, and cultural heritage issues.
  • Experience with education program development.
  • Experience working with Pasifika and/or First Nations community, organisations and/or knowledges.
