We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Inclusive Education Officer to join our team at Brisbane Catholic Education. As Education Officer - Inclusive Education you will provides high quality specialist professional advice and support in the area of inclusive education practices to build the capacity of schools and teachers to meet the diverse learning needs of their students. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team with a focus on Primary schools to support diverse learners and students across all matters of inclusive education.
You will work face-to-face across a cluster of schools and travel to the schools within your allocated cluster will be required. You must have a current drivers licence and your own vehicle, for which motor vehicle allowance is paid for work-related travel (excluding home to your designated office). Office location is negotiable at interview, however applicants are expected to work across multiple offices and school locations
About the role:
- Work collaboratively to support the development and implementation of key strategic directions and professional resources that enhance leadership and teaching in the area of inclusive education.
- Partner with schools to provide interactive and collaborative consultancy that supports school inclusive education practices and capacity to meet students with a diverse range of learning and support needs.
- Provide specialised support for the development, coordination and delivery of responsive services, programs, resources, professional development and initiatives in the area of inclusive education practices
About you: To be successful in this role you will demonstrate
- Experience in working in the area of inclusive education within a school environment.
- Demonstrated experience in providing specialised advice and support to schools on the implementation of effective and expected practices in inclusive education
- Degree qualifications in education, with post-graduate qualifications in inclusive education or a similar relevant field preferred.
- Current registration as a Teacher with the Queensland College of Teachers.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of curriculum, professional practices, relevant legislation, initiatives and current research in inclusive education.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing policy and strategic directions to support student learning.
- Demonstrated knowledge and effective application of contemporary ‘expected and effective’ evidence based practices in inclusive education.
- Ability to form productive partnerships and constructive relationships with school leaders and teachers to facilitate inclusive education practices in schools.
- Skills and experience in delivering professional development and knowledge transfer activities.
- High level written and oral communication skills with the ability to maintain accurate and comprehensive written records.
