Education Development Officer

 

Description:

The Education Development Officer sits within the Curriculum Development unit within the Education Development and Improvement area of the Education, Learning and Assessment team. The Curriculum Development team is responsible for the innovation, development, review and implementation planning of RACP education programs, including major curricula renewal projects. This position will support Advanced Training Curricula Renewal.

The primary role of the Education Development Officer is to support the Curriculum Development team to design, develop and review the College’s 38 Advanced Training curricula in line with agreed educational frameworks.

This role is a fixed-term, full time contract ending in June 2024.

 


Key Accountabilities

  • Scoping, analysis, and evaluation activities to establish the current state of Advanced Training programs
  • Design, development, and consultation on common curricula content, including standards, learning, teaching and assessment programs, and assessment tools
  • Project planning activities to support the program-specific reviews of 38 Advanced Training curricula
  • Stakeholder engagement and implementation planning activities for the roll out of the revised Advanced Training curricula.
  • Manage, support, negotiate with, and advise specialty curriculum groups to develop and review their curriculum, to ensure achievement of College standards and curricula renewal goals.
  • Develop, conduct and facilitate workshops and training materials on curricula development to engage review groups in the curricula renewal process.
  • Write curriculum content in collaboration with stakeholders.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. Adult Education, Curriculum Development) and/or extensive relevant experience
  • Knowledge of the methods used to research, develop, write and implement educational curriculum or professional /industry based training programs / systems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • High level conceptual, design and analytical skills
  • Ability to design, evaluate and adapt processes
  • Ability to design, develop and conduct workshops
