Description:
As the Director of Learning and Innovation, you will be responsible for the leadership, organisation, development, implementation, and regulatory compliance of all educational programs and outcomes at Toowoomba Grammar School. Reporting directly to the Headmaster and serving as a member of the Executive team, you will contribute significantly to the overall direction of the school. Your expertise in contemporary educational approaches to boys’ education and innovative learning practices will enable you to lead by example and build strong relationships with staff, students, and the school community.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy and Planning:
- Contribute to the development of the school's strategy and academic direction.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to anticipate emerging issues and drive service delivery and outcomes.
- Ensure policies and procedures align with school objectives, plans, and regulatory requirements.
People Leadership and Management:
- Manage and develop direct reports, fostering a culture of empowerment and continuous growth.
- Contribute to workforce planning and talent management initiatives.
- Implement effective people management practices aligned with HR frameworks and policies.
Relational Leadership and Management:
- Engage with diverse stakeholders, building and leveraging relationships to achieve school outcomes.
- Lead contract negotiations and manage key service provider relationships.
- Foster constructive and effective working relationships in internal governance and risk management matters.
Functional Accountabilities:
- Develop a strong learning culture across the School and inspire our boys to actively engage in their learning.
- Oversee and direct the Teaching and Learning Programs at Toowoomba Grammar School.
- Support academic staffing needs and appointments in the Senior and Junior School.
- Provide inspiring leadership and promote the school's educational programs.
- Ensure the development of educational facilities and optimal learning environments.
- Represent the school at major events and as required by the Headmaster.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Education, post graduate qualifications and/or leadership will be highly regarded.
- Extensive experience in educational leadership, preferably within a Prep to Year 12 setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary learning sciences and teaching practices.
- Proven experience in curriculum development, implementation, and compliance.
- Strong understanding of assessment and reporting procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Experience in managing teams and implementing professional development programs.
