Description:
Oversee day-to-day operations of the Synchronous Experiences Engineering team
- Actively participate as a member of the Snap Engineering and Messaging leadership teams
- Develop organizational-level goals and drive the technical and organizational roadmap for the Messaging engineering team
- Operate as a Site Lead for the Sydney Engineering office
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams distributed across multiple offices
- Build and grow a team of exceptional software engineers and technical leaders
- Influence key decisions on architecture and implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions
- Mentor a team of engineering managers and senior independent contributors
- Iterate quickly without compromising quality and raise the bar on operational excellence
Minimum Qualifications
- BS/BA in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 15+ years of software engineering experience
- 6+ years of experience managing a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Operating as a Site Lead in a remote office environment
- International experience working in a remote office for a US-based company
- Demonstrated experience leading a large team at scale and managing engineering with an eye to driving efficiency
- Previous experience partnering with cross-functional executives and management across a globally distributed organization
- Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-site, multi-stakeholder environments
- Deep knowledge of and experience working with a diverse group of engineers
- Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-site, multi-stakeholder environments
- Someone who loves to learn, and is passionate about helping others
- Experience with mobile apps and/or databases
- Experience working with distributed systems
