What is the opportunity?:
The Director of Business Development - APAC will ensure the effective and efficient delivery of FutureLearn’s growth objectives in the APAC region. In addition, the Director of Business Development role will need to partner closely with members of FutureLearn’s Partnerships Team (PT) and other senior GUS leaders in the Australian business to ensure that we get the right things to our partners as efficiently, effectively, creatively and profitably as possible.

The purpose of this role is to work closely with FutureLearn’s Partners, both new and existing, to deliver commercially successful programmes, such as microcredentials, bootcamps, degrees and short courses.
You will also be a critical member of FutureLearn’s Partnerships team, with working knowledge of digital trends and developments in the sector. You will work to promote and deliver short courses, microcredentials, degrees and other qualifications, either blended or fully online. You will collaborate
with internal teams to facilitate the delivery of a full suite of products (from free to degree) and additionally available services, for partners. You will also provide support to the wider activities of the Partnerships team and, depending on experience, may take on responsibility for growing pathways across one of our core areas.

What does success look like?:

  • Retain and grow the partnerships to their maximum potential, achieving company financial targets
  • Develop a joint account plan with specific high value partners to guide the relationships providing focused goals based on overall strategic drivers, ROI and value matching
  • Understand the strategy and priorities of partners and build strong relationships with stakeholders through nominated partner organisations
  • Understand the target audience for the Partners’ offering and develop strategies to meet learners needs
  • Understand the potential of the FutureLearn solution and ensure that partners are aware of, and draw upon, the full range of services available
  • Develop, present and discuss rich data and analysis to help identify programmes with high commercial potential for the Partner and FutureLearn
  • Plan and Prioritise to ensure that you are delivering on quarterly targets for content proposals, Partner Memberships Fees, and Direct Revenue opportunities, including FutureLearn OPM
  • Manage and extend commercial relationships within FutureLearn’s high value accounts; building on FutureLearn OPM model and Premium courses.
  • Be recognised as the Partner’s internal advocate, ensuring that the teams meet and exceed the Partner’s expectation, whilst ensuring FutureLearns goals are achieved
  • Keep abreast of developments in the Higher Ed and / or Industry sectors in the global and APAC region and becoming a trusted advisor to our partners
  • Work efficiently across a number of Partners and related administration, and share best practices
