WAAPA is an internationally renowned performing arts training institution within Edith Cowan University. Alumni from all of our courses are found in a multitude of roles within the international arts and cultural industries, from performers to composers, songwriters, producers and artistic curators. The Role
This inaugural Director International appointment at WAAPA will be a welcomed as a member of the School’s executive leadership group and charged with establishing a consolidated international strategy for the School that builds upon our existing academic partnerships and increases our presence internationally in both new and existing markets.
Reporting to the Executive Dean, the incumbent will be required to quickly foster strong and collaborative relationships both internally and externally, utilising these relationships to apply creative and innovative strategies to our international programmes based on the demand, relevance to WAAPA strategic objectives, measured risk exposure and envisaged long-term success.
Individuals will also be expected to possess strong business acumen with the ability to develop and manage contracts with international partners whilst demonstrating the University’s values and representing it and WAAPA’s interests at all times.
Accountabilities
The Director will manage WAAPA’s international partnerships, and develop and support relationships that:
Enhance The School’s global reach and impact;
Enhance the University's global reputation;
Grow international student participation and income;
Deliver high quality transnational education programs;
Attract students to WAAPA through international partnerships and pathways;
Secure access to new research partnerships; and
Enable student and staff mobility to collaborate with international partners with measurable outcomes.
The role of Director International requires the following attributes:
A post graduate qualification (preferably PhD), with significant industry and/or academic experience aligned to at least one of the academic disciplines within WAAPA, including:
