About us
The NSW Institute of Sport [NSWIS] supports 500+ Australian athletes cross 16 sport programs to become world’s best. Since inception in 1996, NSWIS has supported athletes who have won 104 Olympic medals, 206 Paralympic medals and 375 world titles. We are a nationally focused high-performance sport institute reaching all regions of NSW with an Olympic and Paralympic training facility based at Sydney Olympic Park. In partnership with the national high-performance sport system and national and state sporting bodies we enable, impact and support targeted athletes, coaches and performance support staff to prepare for international competition. Performance is at the centre of all that we do, and our people are our greatest performance advantage.
About the role
As the Director, Corporate and Communications you will oversee and lead the Corporate and Communication functions for NSWIS. This includes Operations & Executive Services, Marketing & Communications, Information Technology and Financial Services and People and Culture teams.
Working closely with the CEO and Executive you will continue to build the organisational capability and our relationships with industry and community stakeholders. A key part of your role is to lead major projects, including the NSWIS Corporate strategy and large-scale facility developments. This role also involves in Board reporting and taking a pro-active approach to NSWIS financial management and business planning.

You are a proactive and results driven professional seeking a challenging broad leadership role. You will have extensive experience in a senior management position with responsibility across corporate functions. Most importantly, you will be a proven leader who inspires innovation, best practice and coaches staff to achieve their best. You enjoy building relationships and managing projects, with an ability to engage and inspire people.
Experience, or understanding, of the Australian state and federal government would be held in high regard.
