The Opportunity

The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a highly motivated and capable professional to manage and lead the Office of the FAS Finance and Property Services (OFASFPS).

The Finance and Property Services Division (the Division) is responsible for enabling financial management practices and systems with the department, maintaining Australian Parliament House’s building infrastructure, the effective delivery of the building’s capital works program, and enhancing the department’s planning and quality management capabilities. The Division is also responsible for the implementation of the department’s innovation framework.

Reporting to the First Assistant Secretary (FAS), the Director OFASFPS will provide high-quality strategic advice and executive support to the Division’s FAS and three Assistant Secretaries. You will also manage a small, high performing team and work closely with the Division’s Senior Executive Service to implement business improvement initiatives.

Our ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, self-starter and results driven. You will be experienced in leading and motivating a team in a high-pressure environment and have exceptional communication skills, along with a high level of professionalism and integrity. You will need to uphold the highest level of discretion and confidentiality to operate effectively in this role.
