My client is a large council based in the eastern suburbs. With a successful and collaborative communications team, this role will work closely with the Strategic Communications Manager in managing all organic and paid social media and electronic direct mail channels to engage the community and effectively communicate its plans, priorities and initiatives.

  • Planning, producing and publishing a range of different kinds of content.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate the social media strategy to build and engage audiences across different channels.
  • Manage production of monthly EDM for the digital newsletter in collaboration with the digital content team.
  • Monitor and moderate social media channels effectively in collaboration with the strategic communications team.
  • Provide advice to internal stakeholders on best social media practices to provide the best possible customer experience.

Profile
 

The successful candidate will be someone who has knowledge and experience in managing paid and organic social media and EDM channels, expertise to design, brief and deliver engaging digital marketing campaigns and content. You will also have the ability to identify and mitigate risks on social media channels and have well developed stakeholder management skills to work effectively as past of the wider strategic communications team.
 

Key selection criteria:
 

  • Tertiary qualification in professional communication,marketing or relevant professional experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing social media, EDM and other digital strategies, campaigns and platforms.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to develop and/ or re-purpose content for a diverse range of channels and audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to set digital campaign targets, experience using analytics to measure and report against KPIs, and use data to continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and grow audiences on social media.
  • Working knowledge of content- management systems, electronic direct mail and social media platforms.
