Description:

The Digital Court Program (DCP) is part of the IT section, and is responsible for modernising and optimising technology and capability to support the work of the Court and its users. The DCP is currently designing and developing a new single case management system for the Courts, which is a strategically significant and high-priority project.
Within the DCP, the Data Analyst and Developer will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to analyse operational data and build report products to inform the work of the program and support internal stakeholder needs. This will involve querying databases to investigate business process issues, preparing data evidence to inform project design decisions, liaising with internal stakeholders to define requirements, and building integrated reporting products within the program. The Data Analyst and Developer will support and contribute to the development of standardised practices for the creation and maintenance of data products, and generally support a planned data uplift.
The successful candidate will have strong technical skills and experience, careful attention to detail, and take a curious and analytical approach to their work.

Duties

  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, design and develop high-quality data products that meet business and technical requirements.
  • Interrogate operational data to investigate and understand business problems, and then design solutions or prepare evidence to inform decision-making.
  • Comply with, and contribute to the maintenance of, the framework of processes used to ensure that data products are designed, developed, tested and maintained in accordance with program objectives and best-practice standards.
  • Identify data issues and risks and escalate them through agreed processes.
  • Liaise with internal users to define requirements, validate output, and ensure data products are fit for purpose.
  • Maintain an awareness of the Courts’ broader data and technical environment.


Selection criteria

  • Demonstrated experience as a developer in Oracle and/or SQL technologies.
  • Strong technical and business analysis skills, with an ability to understand user requirements and translate them into clear, accurate code.
  • A demonstrated ability to work with sound judgment and strategic awareness, including compliance with, and contribution to the evolution of, operational frameworks that reflect best-practice standards and support program objectives.
  • Proven experience contributing to innovation in a complex technical and operational environment.
  • An ability to support productive stakeholder relationships as part of a geographically dispersed team, working under limited direction.
