The Liquid Fuels Branch is an integral part of the ongoing energy transition in Australia. The branch delivers both short and long term solutions to enhance Australia’s fuel security position, prepare for the energy transition, improve the quality of Australia’s fuel to achieve better health and environmental outcomes, and facilitate new vehicle technologies.

You will:

  • Collect and manage data from industry and other government agencies, produce statistical estimates using a range of techniques, and compile official datasets
  • Have responsibility for preparing and publishing the monthly Australian Petroleum Statistics and associated products, including PowerBI dashboards
  • Analyse, create and integrate new datasets to support better monitoring and decision making by stakeholders
  • Develop data analysis, visualisations and reporting products to assist policy, regulatory and market monitoring functions and requests for our Executive and Ministers
  • Support modernisation of government data reporting and analysis, including being part of a major ICT project delivery
