The NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) is an independent statutory authority responsible for the curriculum, assessment, teacher accreditation and regulatory standards in NSW schools, and accreditation of early childhood educators. NESA is responsible for developing policies and initiatives for evaluating and improving quality teaching and student learning across all schools and school sectors. NESA was formally established on 1 January 2017, in response to the need to adopt a more strategic and outward-looking focus, greater clarity of regulatory roles and responsibilities, and streamlined processes and systems.

At NESA we are presently focused on an exciting, transformational program of curriculum reform, and this role is a great opportunity to lead a team who support the work of passionate educators.

The Leader, Curriculum Support and Administration is responsible for a team of Administrative Support Officers to, develop, coordinate, manage and monitor the administration of syllabus development within the Curriculum Reform Division.

This is an important leadership role which is varied and challenging and on a day-to-day basis you will:

  • maintain and enhance cooperative working relationships and communications with NESA officers and external stakeholders.
  • monitor timelines, resource use and reporting processes in relation to Curriculum Reform syllabus development.
  • provide training and advice to team members and NESA officers with regard to Directorate policies and processes (including maintaining data bases and financial delegations)
  • develop, monitor and evaluate Division programs including staff induction, recruitment and performance development programs
  • lead and monitor the maintenance of Curriculum Reform Division record management policies and processes
  • support, guide and manage the Administration team through the syllabus development process.
  • foster a positive, collaborative and respectful workplace culture while working on time sensitive projects.
