Description:
Come work with an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander team focused on generating the best outcomes for our littlest learners. Work directly on an important piece of work that will influence change across Early Childhood Outcomes and the Quality and Regulatory space for Early Childhood Education and Care.
This is an unique opportunity to work collaboratively with key partners and stakeholders across the Department and beyond to create a consistent approach to cultural uplift and centre Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing, doing and being across the work we do.
The Department of Education is the largest provider of public education in Australia with responsibility for delivering high-quality public education to two-thirds of the NSW student population. For more information about the Department of Education, please visit NSW Department of Education
The Early Childhood Education and School Policy Directorate drives strategic policy and program development across NSW children’s education journey - from their first day in early learning to their last day at High School.
Working in the Cultures and Languages Team in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Early Education and Care area, you will work collaboratively across the team and beyond to lead the development and implementation of the Cultural Responsiveness Framework for Early Childhood Outcomes and the Quality and Regulatory body in Early Childhood Education.
The key goal of the framework is to increase the Cultural Capability of staff and ensure the effective implementation of Cultural Responsiveness strategies at the team and systems level in Early Childhood areas of the Department. This leadership opportunity will also be responsible for supporting 35 new Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff in identified and targeted roles across the new ECO division, through the implementation of co-designed retention strategies.
