Description:
In this role, you will co-ordinate and support completions certification activities and turnover/handover for a project, through construction, commissioning, and handover phases of the program. You will liaise with stakeholders to identify gaps in upcoming packages and focus on areas to support the completions effort. Your work will help ensure projects are completed on time and meet contractual requirements.
Major Responsibilities
- Establishes the turnover and completions program on the project including working with engineering and construction databases, developing work processes, and working with the Construction team and the client to gain approval
- Manages the flow of documents and data, developing required reports and identifying focus areas for project work, to ensure timely turnover of systems per the project schedule
- Oversees reviews of contractor or contract required certification structures and schedules for the construction, commissioning and handover phases of the project and ensures alignment with project milestones and schedules
- Monitors the production of contractor certification deliverables
- Coordinates plant handover to end user/client and system completions between parties on-project (typically construction to startup), compiling documentation, developing reports, and ensuring quality and consistency of turnover/handover packages for the construction and/or CSU team
- Coordinates with client representatives to obtain approval on work and work processes as they are accomplished
- Completes and maintains the Master Commissioning Systems List
- Manages inputs of systems into Bechtel databases, including working with the automation team as required and developing workflows
- Develops training for project personnel in system completions, including use of the Systems Completion Database software
- Engages with Construction, Pre-commissioning, CSU, and Subcontractor teams to focus on work areas to support the completions effort, including the clearance of punch list items and submittal of completions documents; this includes driving turnover and punch list meetings
Education And Experience Requirements
- A recognized degree in an engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited college or university, or
- A professional license in an engineering discipline, or
- A sufficient number of specialized courses in relevant general engineering or an appropriate engineering discipline, and
- Extensive progressive work experience in Heavy industry or Testing & Commissioning.
Required Knowledge And Skills
- Candidates shall have minimum 7-10 years practical experience in Electrical systems Testing & Commissioning
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, and design criteria pertinent to utility scale electrical systems such as AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 61439, AS 62271, AS 2067, AS 60076 to development of test plans and procedures
- Computer literate knowledge mandatory (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Computer literate in Bechtel systems a plus (Setroute, Teamworks etc)
- Must be able to read and understand/interpret electrical schematic, SLDs, wiring, instrument loops& mechanical PFD drawings
- Technical knowledge of startup, operation, maintenance, or testing and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of engineering systems and calculations, applications of both engineering and startup methods, and application of computers to engineering problems.
- Extensive knowledge of precedents in the startup and operations areas and a broad knowledge of principles and practices of related areas.
- LNG Trains project testing & commissioning experience a plus but not essential
- Relevant Substation project testing & commissioning experience a significant plus (Switchgear, Motor Control Centres, Protection Relays and CT testing (Primary Injection, Secondary Injection), Electrical distribution.
- Skill in English oral and written communication.
