Cssd Instrument Technician

Description:

Opportunities exist for enthusiastic Grade 3 Sterilising (CSSD) Technicians in a permanent part-time or full- time capacity reporting to the CSSD Manager. Based in Epworth Geelong- Waurn Ponds, you will contribute to infection prevention and control and overall patient safety by provision of quality reusable medical devices through sterilization and disinfection processes. You will support the theatre team by collection, cleaning, decontamination, inspection, testing, packing, sterilisation, storage and distribution of reusable medical devices and equipment and will be a proactive member of a self-directed and cohesive CSSD team.

• Ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of service to meet the specific daily operational needs
• Ensuring accurate processes are undertaken and documented
• Actively participating in the quality improvement program within the department
• Practicing within the requirements of the RMD sterilisation standards and standard operating procedures

You will have-

 

• A minimum Sterilisation Services Certificate III or equivalent
• Experience and competence working in all areas of CSSD an ability to plan, organise and prioritise work
• A commitment to excellent customer service and quality improvement
• A working knowledge of relevant regulations and standards impacting sterilizing services
• Demonstrated knowledge in the application of infection prevention and control practices, as well as OHS requirements as they relate to sterilizing services
