Coordinator-general

Description:

The Cooordinator-General (CG) is an independent officer of the State, reporting directly to the Minister from within the Department of State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning. Relied upon to drive and deliver economic opportunities and prosperity for Queensland, the role leverages significant, wide ranging regulatory powers to plan, deliver and coordinate large-scale projects, while ensuring their environmental and social impacts are properly managed. The current, successful and highly regarded CG will exit in early 2023 and an opportunity exists for a credentialed, respected and appropriately experienced leader to 'Think Ahead and Act Now' in this incredibly significant role.

Working across sectors and stakeholders including energy and minerals, agriculture, tourism, manufacturing, and infrastructure you will be instrumental in balancing industry needs and public expectations, stimulating jobs and growth but not at the expense of the environment or community. You play a key role in ensuring the success of the Government's Energy and Jobs plan and will administer the Strong and Sustainable Resources Communities Act.

We are seeking a visionary leader who stimulates ideas and innovation, leads change in complex environments and builds enduring relationships and robust high performing, values aligned teams.

To be successful you will be a highly recognised leader with demonstrated success in a similarly complex role in a public or industry setting. You will lead a large and diverse team and be a high functioning member of the Department's executive leadership team and the Queensland Government's Chief Executive Leadership Board.
