Your New Role
The Safe Space Café Co-ordinator is responsible for the establishment of a peer volunteer led community café/safe space for the LGBTIQAP+ community on the Gold Coast which supports people who identify as LGBTIQAP+ or questioning who have ongoing mental health needs that require ongoing psychosocial support. This is a fixed term contract until January 31st 2024 with the possibility of extension. It will be part time with 50 hours per fortnight. Your key responsibilities in the role will include but not limited to:
Create a safe and secure space for the LGBTIQAP+ community where needs can be assessed and support provided
Develop skills of peer support workers and volunteers
Work with QPALS to identify gaps and barriers to service
Develop and use resources and manage small program budget
Actively assist clients to navigate digital low intensity mental health supports
